Census 2000 Summary 100% Data Profiles School District Files

The Census Bureau has released two different data files containing data for each block in the state.  Using these files, we have produced summaries for the school districts in New York State as they existed on July 1, 1999.

Questions regarding school districts, populations, or boundaries may be referred to the New York State Education Department (518) 474-5213.

The first summary provides total population, non-Hispanic population by race, Hispanic, and population under 18 counts for every school district in the state.

Special Act School Districts – These are school districts created by special acts of the state legislature.  Generally, they represent residential facilities, such as youth detention facilities, providing educational services.  Data for these districts are not presented in this report.
